Out and About

Hey!  If you're new to the town you may want to start with our visitor's guide.  For another view on the town you could try our own Christmas tale.

You've found your way to Hadleigh so what can you do around here?  Well there's the views for a start and the walks.  If you're interested in walking, you may wish to start with a short trek to Kersey.  The village of Kersey is well worth a visit and if you're really lucky you won't get flattened by hordes of tourists. We're hoping to build on this and add a few more walks so you'll develop a sense of the countryside around here.

Hopefully the History pages have given you a taster if you're into old buildings.

Whilst Hadleigh isn't the kind of place to produce sporting superstars you'll find football and rugby most Saturdays in the winter months and cricket during the summer.  There's a leisure centre and swimming pool.  For the youngest there are three parks.

You can sample the delights of the High Street if you're a fan of old-style co-ops (yes! you still get your divvy) and we've got a deli and a health shop.  For those who are seeking a bargain there's always Buyright.  But getting through the tills at the weekend can be a bit of a scrum.  All that may change if we end up with a Tescos in the town.

Don't get me onto the subject of pubs and eateries that'll have to wait for another time.  We're not too badly off for take-aways.  Anyone fancy a video and a pizza?

The photos were taken in  Summer 1999 remember when the Queen's car broke down?  Who said nothing ever happens in small towns?

Take a look and hear what went on at Hadleigh Library when it opened for the first time on Sundays in August 2003.
