Walking around Hadleigh

| For a walk of 5km, off the beaten track, around the parish of Kersey. | |
| 1.75 miles east of Hadleigh, off A1071. The reserve is owned by the RSPB. It comprises mixed woodland, oak, ash, hornbeam, hazel and grey willow. Local boulder clay has produced a high water table; mosses, ferns, aspen and sallow flourish in the wetter areas, which include ponds. Hides, an information hut and way-marked paths may assist in seeing up to fifty species of breeding birds. Monthly guided walks. | 2.5 miles from Hadleigh to Raydon. A branch railway, joining the main London line at Bentley, was opened as a result of local efforts in 1847. But it never paid its way; passenger traffic ceased in 1932, and the line was closed completely in 1965. |
