Hadleigh Archive
Under the wing of Hadleigh Town Council, Hadleigh Archive and its collection of documents are administered by a group of volunteers known as the Archive Panel. Hadleigh Archive operates within the Guildhall Complex where the group is “headed” by Honorary Archivists. The primary aims of Hadleigh Archive are to conserve precious and irreplaceable original documents and to make them available for study by anyone wishing to use them.
Hadleigh Archive is delighted to announce that it has received financial assistance by way of grants from the East of England Museums Libraries Archives Council (EEMLAC), Hadleigh Charity Shop and County Councillor David Grutchfield via his Locality Budget. These contributions will enable the volunteers to continue to develop their contribution and work to Hadleigh Archive and will ensure that some of its precious Latin documents are suitably preserved for the future. Future public access to the English translations of the Latin documents will assist visitors also.
