Maggi Hambling Backs Hadleigh Art Exhibition and S
Internationally renowned Suffolk artist Maggi Hambling has given the thumbs up to the forthcoming annual St. Mary’s Church Art Exhibition and Sale (running from Saturday 22nd April to Saturday 29th April). “Past exhibitions here have always provided a wonderful choice of not only paintings, but woodcraft, pottery and cards and I’m sure that this one will be no exception”. “Art began for me in Hadleigh and I’m delighted that so many local artists have submitted works for show and sale. This is a great show for anyone looking for good works of art – no matter how large or small their budget!” The organisers summed up what is on offer to the hundreds of visitors expected to attend the week long event “we have over 300 items for display and sale, at prices ranging from £20 to £400. I’m sure that there will be something for everyone at prices that suit every pocket”. Once again the organisers have invited local primary schools to send their pupils to view the paintings and have a chance to quiz some of the artists. Profits from each sale will go to supporting the running of the historic St. Mary’s Church and the Suffolk branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. The St. Mary’s Hadleigh Art Exhibition and Sale costs £1 to enter (including a free catalogue) and is open during the following days and times: Saturday 22nd April 10am – 7pm (Ploughman’s lunches being served) Sunday 23rd April 12pm – 5pm Monday 24th April 10am – 6pm Tuesday 25th April 12pm – 6pm Wednesday 26th April 10am – 4pm (local school groups only) 4pm – 6pm Thursday 27th April 10am – 6pm Friday 28th April 10am – 6pm Saturday 29h April 10am – 6pm Maggi Hambling encouraged visitors to buy those artworks they like. “Complete the works of art with your red dots!”
